End-of-the-Term Self-assesment

a) Do you think that you have gained or improved on your public speaking competency in the duration of ENGTWO?

-
I would have to say yes. With all the training and exercises that we were able to do in class, that was the most number of public speaking sessions that i have ever had in a span of a few months.

b) If not, why do you think so? What prevented you from learning or acquiring skills? If yes, what skills are these and how much improvement have you noticed?

- I definitely feel a lot more comfortable in terms of presenting myself and my work in front of other people. Also, there was a big difference in my organization of data as well the manner by which i would structure them. This changed a lot really, and i sort of learned to respect my craft and how to not just do it for the sake of doing it.

c) For those who answered yes, What are the top 3 public speaking skills that you find most valuable and would like to continue to develop in yourself?

- Least of the three would be the appropriate way to structure a presentation and its flow, 2nd would be the way I'd carry myself in front of other people while keeping it cool and clean. I guess the most important would be the ability to ask and get attention from my audience. It's not the easiest, but I think if you get them interested, you're halfway done.

d) For everyone, what other skills do you think you have not had the chance to learn much during the term but would try to practice and acquire in upcoming classes in DLSC?

- I really can't tell. Since the structure of ENGLTWO and the way its being taught pretty much covers up all the necessary skills and perks that one would need in terms of public speaking and presenting one's self. If there would be anything else, excuse my lack of insight, but to me, the course is complete enough.
